Labour councillors launch Help with the Housing Booklet

Bexley’s Labour Group of councillors have launched a Help with Housing information booklet to assist residents, charities and voluntary groups in supporting residents who are seeking assistance due to the current housing crisis, as everyone deserves decent home to live in.

The booklet outlines information available from both national and local organisations to assist people in dealing with their housing issues and explains the legalisation that Bexley Council have to follow and provides further information and advice for leaseholders, homeowners and those private renting or renting from a housing association.

Cllr Anna Day, Shadow Cabinet Member for Housing, Climate Change, transport, Environment and Leisure said “It has been clear to me through conversations with residents that there was a growing need to collate housing advice from both national and local organisations in one place. Residents have complained how hard they find it to access the Council’s services for housing assistance via an online form. The creation of this information booklet to support residents has been a team effort from Bexley’s Labour Councillors to provide assistance through this crisis.”

Cllr Stefano Borella, Leader of the Labour Group said “This booklet has been produced to help residents be given the correct information to deal with any housing issue they might face, this housing booklet contains helpful information in one place to help residents who don’t know whom to turn to. I hope residents find the information helpful and as ever they can get in touch with their Labour Councillors who are always happy to help.”
